Renessa, There are great techniques to satisfy the student when you don't have the answer. One is to let them know that their question is important and that you want to research it before responding, then give the student a date when you will give them the answer. Cindy Bryant

Allison, I wanted to share an article that I ran across that is an excellent resource for the classroom or dealing with students when you don't know the answer. http://www.techrepublic.com/article/what-to-do-when-you-dont-have-the-answer/5032120 Cindy Bryant

Crystal, Any major change in life is initially threatening, anxious and depressing for most people. These changes could be unemployment, homelessness or illness requiring rehabilitation. Yet, in the long term that same change may be freeing and provide them with the growth they need. But, when trying to deal with this anxiety and depression, people often want a quick and simple cure to their problem. And that is when they are most vulnerable. Their vulnerability could easily lead to poor decisions. Cindy Bryant

Ashlyn, Many institutions use a variety of methods to conduct their exit interviews, such as; power points, computer based, groups and individually. I prefer to conduct a preliminary group exit followed by an individual meeting on an as needed basis. Cindy Bryant
Diane, Hi, when you mention 'unsolicited' calls, do you mean that the students call you? What happens if the student changes their mind and no longer wants to be contacted? Cindy Bryant

Lourdes, Hi, student testimonials send a powerful message. It is incredibly motivating to hear how someone overcame their struggle. The key is that testimonials must be given freely and not contingent upon a gift or graduation. Cindy Bryant
Claudia, Thank you sharing your school's process. The student portal has become a "game changer" for many schools. Cindy Bryant
Krystal, You are in a unique situation for your students to pay as they go. The key here is to ensure students have a full understanding of the commitment they are making in time and money. They need to fully comprehend the out-of-pocket expenses. Cindy Bryant
