Megan, Hi, you mentioned that e-books hold the student accountable and I was curious as to how an e-book does this? Would you mind expanding on your response? Cindy Bryant

Helen, Hi, reviewing the DVD's is a great idea. Offering the catalog in both venues reaches more learning styles. Cindy Bryant

Angela, Thank you for sharing your previous experiences with the group. Conducting them both anonymously through a survey and in person upon and after the final posting of grades will help ensure the most honest dialogue. I like the idea but I am not sure how it would be applied to throughout a larger institution. Cindy Bryant

Angie, Many adult learners feel that they do not have a responsibility to their instructors. The bottom line is that faculty and staff have an obligation to take a student at his word regarding their work. This is a difficult situation for an instructor to encounter especially when you feel that you know that the student is being untruthful. Cindy Bryant

Mary, Students always enter an institution with a certain level of concern due to the unknown. I agree that it is important to avoid confusing the student because when you couple this with their own fears they could easily decide to withdraw. Cindy Bryant

Tammy, You stand in a unique position having experienced an exit interview. Your knowledge will be able to ease student concerns with what occurs during this process and the importance of attending exits. Cindy Bryant

Shauna, Thank you for your candor. As a new faculty member entering mid-term there is a possibility that you will be confronted with unhappy students who want to voice their opinion. I am sure your institution appreciates your eagerness to learn the processes and procedures. Cindy Bryant

Sandra, Sometimes taking a group approach to student complaints is very effective BUT sometimes it creates chaos that cannot be controlled or contained. Accessing issues on a case by case basis is always a good practice. Cindy Bryant
LaTerri, Hi, this is a perfect response to a students inquisition about your competitors. Cindy Bryant
