Christina, There are different types of motivation described as being either extrinsic or intrinsic. Extrinsic motivations are those that arise from outside of the individual and often involve rewards such as trophies, money, social recognition or praise. Intrinsic motivations are those that arise from within the individual, such as doing a complicated cross-word puzzle purely for the personal gratification of solving a problem. It sounds as if you are motivated extrinsically. Cindy Bryant

Freda, Welcome to the forum. If I may add one more component to your response when providing information to a student faculty/staff should be able to back up the information with data. The data may be found in disclosures, catalog or policies. Cindy Bryant
