With virtual learning it is important to create a pattern of teaching that students can expect and rely on for consistency purposes.  Organization is key and don't over use a variety of tools if it's not necessary.  Create sections/boards that allow students to support one another.

Learning about your own teaching style and taking into consideration different learning styles, you much choose the most appropriate technology to increase the success of learning objectives.  From LMS, voice over PPTs, and Screen capturing, there are many ways to deliver and support.

Dealing with undesireable behavior and the different personality types of students in an online atmosphere.  Having the ability to resolved conflict and address privately the needs of students at various levels of the course.

The main take away is to group students into smaller groups when doing synchronous meetings, a review of reasons why a student may not participate and how to get them to participate.

Making sure students get a bio of myself and asking students to write a short bio. Create contact with each student within the first week and commenting on something they may have written in bio.

Structure and simplicity with set up of CMS including modules and lessons within modules.  Simple navigation, get rid of links that aren't being used.  Provide students with a way to communicate with you when needed and letting them know you are there for each and every one of them, building a relationship with every individual.
