Technology places an advantage in the finger tips of students and teachers. Teaching and learning various technology enhances a lesson aand learning. Find ways to integrate and collaborate through technology.

 

Blogging is a great collaboration tool! I've implemeted blogging into lesson for years. Students find it as a way to "informally" complete the task when in actuality you are creating a "formal'' lesson for them.

 

I tend to use micrblogging for discussion or evaluation with my students. With the "slack" in language and writing, I wouldn't use it when needed to address grammar, punctuation, and other mechanics in writing.

 

With any lesson, rubrics should fit the need of the task at hand with some flexiblity. Just from personal teaching experience, rubrics should be geared towards the ultimate goal of the activity.

 

Social media, a popular form of cmmunication with youth, can be an effective learning tool. Some key factors are to guide, assess, and ensure efficient and effective implementation into the course. Set goals, guidelines and let your students be creative in their learning with boundaries.
