As an instructor or an Instructional Designer realizing more goes into the development of a course, but the realization of the individual needs and considerations for the variety of students that may be enrolled.  As an instructor you must consider their abilities to take an online course, encourage commitment, discuss disabilities, motivate, and set goals with them.  As well as developing tools for their success, such as standardizing days/times assignments are turned in.  As an instructor you must be just as committed and the student

Personally, in all my years as a training manager and instructor, I have always felt good communication practices are very important. Taking the time to point out possible mistakes, rude comments, and such should only help the learner become better at their area of study as well as interacting with others

Ultimately, as in all situations, good communication skills are the key to success.  As an instructor, establishing and upholding those requirements is very important for not only the success of the class but also the learners educational experience

Technology is a great thing these days, but you really need to ensure you are using the right one for the purpose of your class and students

Regardless of online training on in class it is extremely important to properly layout your course so learner has consistency

Proper facilitation skills must be practiced at all times to ensue students are progressing in their learning journey

very important to lay your course out properly to determine synchronous or asynchronous learning is required

So much technology out there to use to help facilitate the learning experience, but you must be sure to use the correct tool for the job

Recognizing the need to utilize many different styles of assessments and evaluations

Ensuring that you find a way to always provide meaningful feedback
