Use multiple delivery methods when lesson planning to keep students engaged, suite all different learning styles. 

It is good to let students know class expectations the first day to relieve anxieties and being friendly lets the students know that you care about their learning.

I got out of this it is important to set a road map of the class and material, as well as creating an inviting and unintimidating environment for learning.

You are a model for your students ex. the way you dress, your language, and your conduct.
