Conisistency in moules is key to student succcess in online course development. It is important to decide as an insructior how you would like to organize the modules. Once that is determined all modules should be consistent. This applies to font used, graphics, audio, video and should be consistent from module to moudle. The information in this unit has given me some good ideas on how to organize course material.

I learned about the differt types of students in an e-learning envrironment. It is important to understand the different student types in the course so the student can be addressed in the best way possible. In addition it is importnat to understand why students may want to leave an e-learning program and be able to help the student stay foucsed so the course can be finished successfully. Building relationships with students at the start of the course may help students to not feel alientated and willing to reach out if the student is having issues within the course.

On the first day or before it's a great idea to send out a welcome letter to the students. An assignment could be a first discussion post with everyone introducing themselves to the course. Student connection is just as important in an e-learning environment as in a brick and mortar environment.

In an e-learning environment it is important for students to feel supported both with content and technology. The instructor has to be there for the student to assist the student in the e-learning environment. It is also important for the instructor to understand all components of the course being taught and to have an understanding of the CMS being used. As CMS can vary from school to school it is impotant to learn each CMS platform you would be working on. It is also important to make sure to set up a good communication system within the e-learning environment. One… >>>
