About me

This is my first year teaching ,although I have trained quite a few Pharmacy Techs during my over 30 years as a Pharmacist ,and I am always looking for better ,improved and easier ways to teach my students and keep them interested in the subject being taught. I have to say ,that I have gotten very interesting and different insights on HOW TO ,from this courses and my peers.Keep the good work and ideas coming!

I agree with previous comments. Is good to see other points of view and fresh ideas to use while teaching

My students know I am always aware of what is going on in the classroom at all times, specially during testing , so I have been fortunate up until now. I did have in onew instance students chamging answers after the tests were graded ,so now I circle the wrong answer in color and write the correct answer by the side making it impossible to change answers.

I do try to have all HW checked  by the next day ,but Dawn's idea is pretty good. I am to remember to do that myself

I also agree that being prepared and have the class ,as well as keeping the students informed about the activities for the day is very helpful to keep on track.I usually have a whole week agenda posted in the board at the beginning of the class to keep them on track and meet deadlines and agenda. It keeps them totally focused including myself

I agree with the information offered.

I sually give the students enough time to complete and turn in their assignments ,but there is always a couple stranders that will try to turn them in the day of the final.I make sure I notify the entire class the HW rules and specify I will not accdept any late assignmets on the Final Exam Day.Also make sure I notify themm that 10% of the score will be deducted each time an assigment is turned in late. That seems to work for the most of them

Always good to keep this pointerws in mind

Alway do the right thing in class ,just like you will in your job as a Healthcare worker.Do not dismiss any unproffesional behavior. That foesn't mean that you cant use humor in the class ,and/or higlight certain situations.Just do it professionally
I am always giving my attention while the nstudents are atking a test.So they know I am watching closely and not paying attention to what is going on during the test. For me that is the best way..not giving them a chance to cheat
It presents a challenge to the isntructor having different types of these students in a classroom. But paying attention to their behavior ,having strucxture in the classroom and assingning them important roles within the classroom helps a lot.
