We need to establish a better planned calendar with meeting dates.  We started allowing for more flexibility of times/locations, but getting consistency for Date would help.  Also, many of our Advisories could use some new faces.

We have been discussing the idea of giving students the opportunity to work on their interview skills.  I would love to set up a way for local businesses to come in for these interviews and give the students feedback.

Simulating real life work experiences, as well as lab performance tasks are great ways to nurture student behaviors and give real time feedback through the process.

Punctuality, initiative, and collaboration are some good ones to asses.

When I think about this younger generation (not trying to send like a "get off my lawn" guy) I think we need to better define "communication" and "perseverance".  Especially on the communication side.  So many people think they are good at communicating, but drop the ball on follow up etc.

By reminding teachers about the importance of "soft skills" they can construct their lessons to include opportunities to model and allow students to practice them throughout the year.  While skill attainment is an important part of the CTE classroom, the "soft skills" they learn will benefit every student regardless of what industry the choose as their career.
