Selecting instructional media

Jimin, Good. Adult learners (young and older) want and need variety to keep their attention and to enhance the learning cycle. Being prepared to offer mutimedia into our lessons assures we reach most of the different learners and their varied learning styles and differences. Barry Westling

David , Sure. Students expect (and deserve) their instructor to be prepared, materials organized, and able to smoothly go through the daily lesson. They should feel as though the class session was beneficial, and added to their culmulative knowledge and learning that will help them be prepared for the work setting they're training for. Michelle, Great. The last 10-15 minutes of class can sometimes be put to good use by reviewing daily or past information. I agree that setting up before students arrive provides time for students before class without me being rushed to get my stuff ready. Barry Westling

Michelle, I believe in virtually any training program, there are many aspects that can be amplified, and a good guest speaker can bring a freshness, alternative perspective, and enthusiasm to the routine of regular class training sessions. Barry Westling

Using pretests as planning tools

Sean, Right. That's how most instructors use the pretest. The real benefit is to the instructor to see where small adjustment may be needed prior to moving ahead full steam. Barry Westling
