Technology is important, but it cannot replace the human connection. Take AI for example. This is now a concern for many of my audio students in terms of job and career stability.

Students, based on their time of birth, see the world differently and require learning thru static and interactive methods. Methodology and technology are crucial to this.

Each generation was born at a certain time and has a different view of reality. Adaptation is key to teaching students from these different generations.

This course is sorely needed. I really couldve used this,especially regarding the 'Classroom Discipline'. I defintely plan to utiize this. Very valuable indeed!

Reply to Michael Howe's post:I, too, feel like a guide with buddy attributes. I need to work on varying my style to suit my class. These last two semesters, I had a growing number of volatile and outgoing personalities. Sometimes I need to shift between guide, buddy and controller at a moments' notice. Very challenging, to say the least.

Managing Online behavior is especailly challeging due to personal behavoirs and personalities. To me, this has always been the biggest challenge for me. The bigger the class, the more personalities and potential confliects may happen. The topics covered here really help me focus on how to recognize and resolve these issues before they get out of control. I'm really grateful for this course.

Engaging learners involves not just what you ssay, but how you say it.  You want to be postive and encourage participation. However, if you have to offer critisism, make sure its constructive and dignified.

Projecting a Presence online means initiating and leading a class or discussion, but not dominating it. Moderating a discussion, but making sure it does not get out-of-hand,  is very important.  This takes a lot of practice and timing.

To gain trust and confidence from your students, you have to project confidence and honesty in what you're talking about. You need to have a full understanding of the material and how best to present it.
