Our students are entering a world in which 60% of the jobs will require technological competency--a world in which they must continue to update their occupational and technological skills in order to be successful. We must enable them to become technologically competent. We must take advantage of the capacity of technology to enhance our traditional classroom presentations and to engage our students in active learning.

Educators face increasing pressure to incorporate technology into their classrooms. Among the pros: Tablets can hold hundreds of textbooks on one device, plus homework, quizzes, and other files. I finished ED101 and the course was very informative and enhancing to my profession. I realy enjoyed the quizzies because they reminded me of my critical thinking skills with knowledge from the past and present. The course encouraged me and identified my strengths and weakness. A database management system is a collection of computer software that enables users to define, create and maintain a database. Defining a database involves specifying constraints for the data stored in the database, and normalization is a logical design method which minimizes duplicate, or redundant, data and design flaws.

Computer science faculty today face many pressures to integrate collaborative and cooperative learning approaches in courses, increase active participation by students in classes, and increase the participation of under-represented groups in computing. The pressures are many and varied and derive from many sources, such as the emphasis on team work.
