I will be starting a new class in jan 2012,I am all excited about using all I have learned from ED 104,I have been teaching for a long time but this course has given me a new incite into various strategies which can bring life to a dull classroom.looking forward to learn more in the near future,

thank you.

I would like to add that besides the regular ways of teaching, like a lecture, ppt or just oral presentation there should be ways to grab our students attention,I need to bring in all the diff ways I can in order to capture my students attention,as it becomes boring and students tend to just seem to have ADD!i teach the same subject sometimes  6 hrs/day,if anyone has some new ideas to share please do let me know, for example, if it is an Anatomy and physiology class, and have to cover 3 chapters in 5 hrs!what are the different ways to make this long class… >>>

I also think that in order to learn something new,you need to repeat, review, practice and reenforce this information again and again.I always review the prevoius topics before I start a new one,and at the end of the day,one last time before the class ends, the covered material is reviewd in key points, and students know the reason that what has been repeated for the upteenth time is important and not to be forgotten, specially if a topic is a complex one.

Yes practice does make perfect.

I do not have traditional education degree,I teach in a career orientated school, this is a very good way to learn and earn,I am glad that we are given this opportunity to better ourselves in what we do every day.the discussion board, the blog ,all are very good ways to communicate with others who have a common interest.

Pat, for me teaching is not only my passion it is an obsession!if I am not teaching, I am lost, I look for students in other programs at my campus, who may need some help, and if it is a topic I can handle, I will try to help them understand the material in the easiest way I can.I never feel that my students have drained me out, I am always hungry to teach.
