Students of higher learning institutions are technically considered customers because they are being charged for the education they are receiving, however we cannot treat students as if they are customers and "the customers always right" mentality, because they need to be independent and focused on the materials they are being taught and make sound and responsible decisions.

Hello, I have learned that with the adult educational community there are many stressors and outside factors that may impact a students ability to learn and retain information, and their ability to manage time effectively. Adult learners face far more challenges than children, with outside pressures and responsibilities making their goals that much more difficult to attain. As an instructor I feel that I should be encouraging and supportive of my adult learners and be available to connect them with resources whenever possible to help them with whatever their situation may be.
