I enjoyed this course and was reminded how to adjust my teaching strategies according to the diversity of my group. I was also reminded of the various learning styles.

Good information. I was reminded of how each generation can vary in ways they learn and the best approach/tools to help facilitate their learning.

There are baseline expectations in VA for workplace skill training in colleges, such as computer skills, system thinking, total quality and statistics, economic analysis, and HR skills.

This module also made me aware that besides encouraging and facilitating safety in the lab environment, it is also very important to have proper documentation of these efforts in the event of an accident. Attendance records, safety quizzes, and even written agreements signed by students stating that they have reviewed and agree to the safety guidelines of that specific learning environment.

When assessing a competency, it is helpful to put the learning objectives within the lab environment into categories, such as foundation skills, technical skills, and professional skills. This addresses the 3 domains of Bloom's Taxonomy.

I was reminded of how important it is to know our students' different learning styles and to adjust our instruction according to these styles. Also, students learn better when they can hear AND see examples of what is being taught.

Being new to this teaching environment, I had not considered how objectives are often unclear even though tasks are being mastered. I also see that Bloom's taxonomy is a great rule-of-thumb here.

More fantastic ideas that I can use with our clinical students! I will definitely utilize the dots on their watches technique when this opportunity presents itself.

Some fabulous ideas to help our students be better critical thinkers and develop their assessment skills! I personally like the last one that teaches them to not on,y focus on what they are hearing, but to also use their other senses simultaneously, which will be a useful exercise with our clinical students.

There was a lot in this module that I found to be very informative. I also did not know that a Responsible Employee is obligated to report incidents that may have been written or even hinted about on a social media site.

Title IX protects students and employees from discrimination based on gender identity, sexual orientation, etc. We must all be aware of the policies and regulations in place that protect us as well as our students.
