About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Activity

Hi Seth, Absolutely! A line has to be drawn, and the student should not be allowed to cross the line. The relationship between the instructor and student should always be only professional in nature. Patricia
Hi Marie-Anne, Great confidence builder! Students may think . . . wow, if they can do it, then I can do it too. We want our students to believe in themselves. Patricia
Hi Jaclyn, We as educators should want to know if our students are grasping the various concepts. Why wouldn't an instructor grade homework? Students should have an incentive for doing homework. Patricia
Hi David, I like the idea of utilizing the white board. Students have a lot going on, and the information written on the white board serves as a reminder. Patricia
Hi Camila, Wow, you do a fine job monitoring your students. I like your techniques. I can see how they can be very effective. Patricia
Hi Dan, It is important to know that everyone is on the same page. It is good to make the requirements and expectations known to students on Day 1. Patricia
Hi Bonnie, Guest speakers are fabulous! They really can add light to the class. It is good for students to hear from someone else other than the instructor. Patricia
Hi Peggy, Wow, I like your take on a positive instructor image! I can tell you are a true professional, and you lead by example. Continue to be a great role model for students. Patricia
Hi Mark, Excitement starts at the top and that is with the instructor. The instructor sets the tone for the class either exciting or boring. Hopefully it is with excitement. Patricia
Hi Herb, I prepare thoroughly, and I lead by example in all areas. I am a true professional! Patricia
