About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Hi Madelyn, Guest speakers are an excellent resource. Students get so excited when they know a guest speaker will be coming. Patricia
Hi Christine, We should want to do everything for our students to put them at ease, after all this is a learning experience for them. The stress will come... Patricia
Hi Charles, I like how you put yourself in the student's place. I do this a lot to become extremely effective with my teaching strategies. Patricia
Hi Kristine, Great ways to monitor your students while testing. Sometimes all it takes is to watch students while testing, and they change their mind about cheating. Patricia
Hi Karen, You're right! These tactics always work to capture students attention. Patricia
Hi Shelly, You are not totally off base. I have experienced the ones you least expect to cheat, will. Always watch students closely when testing. Patricia
Hi Anthony, When you do not have classroom control, most things are out of wack. Nothing seems to be right without good classroom management. Patricia
Hi Alexandria, I love your variety! I can tell that your classes are not borain! I bet your students really do look forward to coming to your classes every day. Students want, need, and appreciate variation. Patricia
Hi Amanda, Students need and want direction. We have to guide the type of student we deal with. They truly look to us for guidance. Patricia
