About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Hi William, Yes. Students get a sense of confidence...if they can do it, then I can do it! The goal seems real and attainable. Patricia
Hi Julie, Nicely said! Some of life's best lessons are learned from making mistakes. It seems like when you learn from a mistake, the lessons really sticks with you. Patricia
Hi Timothy, Change is a must to minimize cheating. It seems that some kind of way tests/quizzes leak out. I like the idea of changing tests/quizzes. Patricia
Hi Ana, Professional distance is a must in education. Students should never mistake who is the instructor. The instructor should fully live up to the role as the instructor. Students should not be allowed to cross the line. Patricia
Hi Marsa, Yes, as long as the work is practical and applicable students tend to want to do it because they understand the benefit of it. Patricia
