About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Hi DaNae, How do you feel students benefit from being shown examples? Patricia
Hi Vicki, Yes, it does seem to work really well whenever the angry student is in isolation. You can reason and rationalize better with the student when it is done one on one. Students will BARK back in front of their peers. I've learned over the years, handle the angry student behind closed doors. Patricia
Hi George, It appears you have a natural knack at making people feel at ease. I like how you want to remain cool and do these type things very casually. You made me feel comfortable just reading your response. I also like to pay my shy students compliments, such as you like very nice to day or nice shirt, etc. It makes them feel very special to be noticed. Patricia
Hi Mary, Fair enough. I totally understand. Patricia
Hi Bonni, I like your outlook on following up with assignments. Students deserve and need to know as soon as possible the outcome of various assignments. I especially like how you question yourself to make you even more effective as an educator. I can tell you are caring. Patricia
Hi Joanna, What do you utilize to minimize instructor anxiety? Patricia
Hi Peter, In what ways did the graduate guest speaker motivate your students. They are certainly very inspirational to students. Patricia
Hi Bonni, I like it! I believe in never letting your students see you sweat! You must appear to be confident at all times. Patricia
Hi Joseph, How do you feel students benefit from being shown examples? Patricia
Hi Joanna, It is super how you use a variety of ways to get your students excited! You do not give your students time to become bored because you have so many different ways to keep their attention. Patricia
