About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Hi Phillip, What a great response! You made some awesome points as a refresher. I especially like the mentioning of how students have already bought into their subject matter. Math is hard to sell if it is not their major, but you seem to have a good grip on selling it to the students. Math has many personal practical values, which is a great selling point. Patricia

Hi Lorraine, I have found that sometimes first term students have to get back in the swing of things. I like the idea of guided notes. I also like to give my students study guides for tests. Students appreciate any aid that they can get in order to do well. Patricia
