About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Activity

Hi John, Learning is awesome when it is fun. Students must realize in any course you cannot take shortcuts. Anything worth having is worth working for. Patricia
Hi Diana, What do you do to get students excited about the course content? Patricia
Hi Robert, Absolutely! Talk the talk and walk the walk. Patricia
Hi James, Go for it! Patricia
Hi Tracy, I make it a point daily to call on every student. Once students get use to that pattern, they really begin to focus because they know they will be called upon. Patricia
Hi Joe, My students are so accustom to skipping every other seat on test day, I do not have to even announce it anymore. I like the idea of telling them the day before to decrease chaos. Patricia
Hi Donald, We don't need to be ourselves us, but we need to prepare well so that anxiety is minimized. Patricia
Hi Jonathan, Absolutely! You lose all respect if your behavior is unprofessional. Students expect us and want us to behave as professionals. Our students need positive role models. Patricia
Hi Scott, Listening is a virture. Our students have a lot going on in their lives. Sometimes they simply need someone to be a sounding board. Patricia
Hi Laureen, Thank you for making it real for your students. Students are better able to relate whenever they see applications from the real world. Patricia
