About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Activity

Hi Francine, Students love hand-on activities. The more you can incorporate, the better. Patricia
Hi Michael, Great icebreaker. It is important to get to know your students and for your students to get to know each other. Patricia
Hi Robert, Students really like it and get whenever they can actually do it. Students enjoy hands-on learning; a great sense of interest and excitement is generated. Patricia
Hi Danielle, Students tend to really take anything more seriously whenever a signature is secured. I like the idea of having the students sign the contract. Patricia
Hi Lisa, Some students have cheating down to a science, and it is hard to catch them. Constantly watch your students, watching alone will minimize cheating. Patricia
Hi Kevin, Absolutely! Real simple, lead by example because we are being watched. Patricia
Hi Bernard, Great insight to share with your students. I am sure you make a difference when it comes to this. Patricia
Hi Greg, It sounds like you can really understand these students because you have done the same thing. I am sure you can give them some good insight. What kind of insight have you shared with your students about this? Patricia
Hi Shantana, I like how you put the responsibility back on the student, and you give them something to think about as well. Patricia
Hi Charles, Prospective students are really observant as well. I have had many prospective students to say that they noticed everyone is so professional. Believe it or not, professionalism is a selling point to prospective students. Patricia
