About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Activity

Hi Thongsamay, I have found great success with one-on-one with shy students as well. Patricia
Hi Luis, This is the moment you want to go I told you so. Patricia
Hi Amy, This is an excellent field that requires the use of a lot of visuals. Patricia
Hi April, You know what, at the very moment you have their attention, you give them something to think about, and you have them so pumped they are ready to conquer the world. They can relate to these questions. Patricia
Hi Deborah, The ones that you think will shine don't, and the ones you think won't shine does. Quiet/shy students will surprise you in a good way! Patricia
Hi Angela, In both scenarios the students need to be spoken to, you may need to even get your DOE involved. Patricia
Hi Jennie, I concur! They simply do what they know how to do best, what they have been exposed to all of their life. It will take everyone pulling together to change this mindset. Patricia
Hi Chuck, There is a must that you have to get students to understand WHY they are taking the course. Once the student understands, the student has a greater appreciation for the course and the instructor. Patricia
Hi Terry, Computers have made cheating real easy to do. Patricia
Hi Justine, Individualized attention is special to anyone, not to mention a student. Patricia
