About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Activity

Hi Roberto, Visual seems to really put things in perspective for students. Visual also serves as a great confidence builder. Patricia
Hi Jeffrey, Classroom management needs to be enforced. Students deserve to have an environment that is conducive to learning. Patricia
Hi Cynthia, You are on point! I often wonder what some instructors are thinking whenever they don't follow rules, policies, and procedures, but they expect the students to do so. Unreal... Patricia
Hi Thomas, Preparation is a must! It certainly eases a lot of pressure by getting to class early and having equipment and materials ready to go. Patricia
Hi Nancy, Students need to and want to hear about our personal experiences. It motivates them when we can share stories so that they can have ideas as to what is expected of them in the work place. Patricia
Hi Charlesetta, You're right! I have found those who cheat have not studied or not studied enough for the test. Patricia
Hi Joseph, I concur! Passion helps tremendously! Students can tell when you love or don't love what you do. Patricia
Hi Ellen, Smart tactic. Quiet students really tend to open up more in a smaller setting. Patricia
Hi Nancy, Smart tactic! I like it! Students always wonder why is she/he in the back teaching. Patricia
Hi Chrystalyn, Whenever you vary your teaching method students appear to have more of an interest in the course. Also anytime you can share personal experience, students become really excited. Patricia
