About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Activity

Hi Jerry, Listening is key. Sometimes students just need you to hear them out. Patricia
Hi Nutisha, Classroom control is very important for the success of students. Patricia
Hi Darlene, It is tough when you teach in an accelerated program to review work each day. At my institution it is highly suggested that we review work each day for our accelerated programs. Patricia
Hi Sue, Our students should be very important to us, therefore we should want to get to know them. Patricia
Hi Mark, Reviewing requirements certainly add clairity, and therefore there are no gray areas. Patricia
Hi Isabel, Silent students are really easily intimidated. What a good strategy to get the silent student involved in such a tactful way. Patricia
Hi Moti, This is a super way to get all involved. Patricia
Hi Loyd, Explaining really helps clarify things instead of leaving it to the student to read an interpret on their own. Patricia
Hi Jeannette, Great idea! I like to try to get my new instructors to team teach with seasoned instructors. Patricia
Hi Lynn, I like the activity and the whole purpose of it. Patricia
