About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Activity

Hi Beverly, Instructors should have interaction with their students. Eye contact is important from the student as well. Employers really evaluate eye contact. Patricia
Hi Tim, Mediators are always a good idea in service-oriented complaints/concerns. Patricia
Hi Sarah, I tell them they should have asked for clarity before hand. Patricia
Hi Stephen, It is important to update exams because questions leak out and sometimes even exams grow legs. Patricia
Hi Michael, Energy is such a trickle down effect, and it starts with the instructor. The instructor sets the tone for the class. Patricia
Hi Karen, I even have one of my colleagues read my directions to determine if everything is clear. Patricia
Hi Jacqueline, I've heard the same saying from students, but students must learn how to adapt. One may not keep the same boss forever in the workplace. Patricia
Hi Randy, I like the idea of the side fun project. I can see how this generates excitement. I got excited just from reading your response. Patricia
Hi Karen, I like the whole idea of diagnosing the client's problem and solving the client's problem. This scenario is so real for students, and I am sure generates a lot of excitement. Patricia
Hi Cindy, Great response! It is only fair to treat all students the same. Students will respect you more knowing that you do not show favortisim. Patricia
