About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Activity

Hi Bonnie, It really gives students a sense of comfort and importance whenever the instructor share their personal contact information. Students need to know that we geniunely care about them and their success. Patricia
Hi Adam, Even adult students will take full advantage of you, if you allow them to. Take control and lead and instruct. Patricia
Hi Kacey, You have a natural knack for teaching. You do not have to fake anything, and it is evident that you love what you do. I am sure your students enjoy your classes. Patricia
Hi Robert, I am in total agreement. Admit to your mistake and move on. Don't be a finger pointer. Patricia
Hi Margaret, It is okay to let your personality come through. I think my students feel I have a very friendly and approachable personality, but I can get very firm and stern when there is a need. Patricia
Hi Erica, Big mistake to befriend students. All types of accusations begin to come about. Patricia
Hi Melanie, Students need to know that their opinions matter. Students feel a sense of importance whenever they are listened to. Patricia
Hi Xiomara, It is amazing what motivates our type of students. Interacting with them let them know that they matter, and we care. Patricia
Hi Linda, Absolutely nothing on the desk except for necessary test materials, i.e. pencil/pen etc. Patricia
Hi Shantae, Professionalism is a term where one is held to very high standards. Never let your guards down because you never know who is watching you. Patricia
