About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Hi Robert, Great response! You get from your students what you expect; raise the bar high, and you will be please with what you get. Patricia
Hi Kristine, Super idea! What a great way to incorporate what the generation loves...technology and YouTube into the learning process. Patricia
Hi Melanie, Your students should really appreciate the completed calendar. Most instructors will suggest a calendar so that students can jot down deadlines. Patricia
Hi Ronda, You're welcome! When my students dress, I dress too. Students love it whenever their instructor participates as well. This is a great way to lead by example. Patricia
Hi Eric, Isolating the angry student is smart. It is not good to confront an angry student in front of others, this makes the student even more angry. Patricia
Hi Suzanne, Building a rapport with students is very important. Most students want a good professional relationship with their instructor. Students understand the instructor can help them in more ways than one. Patricia
Hi Trish, You can have a Version B of each test, and use the Version B as the makeup test. Patricia
Hi Christine, Great! Continue to use smart tactics to avoid cheating. Patricia
Hi Suzanne, A professional certainly leads by example. We have to talk the talk and walk the walk so to speak. Patricia
Hi Charlotte, Great clarity is added from being shown an example. It is also a super confidence builder. Patricia
