About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Activity

Hi Lisa, Absolutely! Personal relationships are not good in the education area. This type of relationship can cause way too many problems. Patricia
Hi Colleen, Great practice to use to grab your students attention. Once they see the relevance, they become more interested. Patricia
Hi Lyn, I love to have my new instructors team teach with a seasoned instructor if at all possible. This tactic has proven to be extremely beneficial. Patricia
Hi Sandra, Students tend to pick up on this type of action quickly, and they will begin to complain and become really concerned. As educators we must treat EVERYONE the same. Patricia
Hi Kelly, Externs/interns are great motivators as well. Students really enjoy hearing the practical side of their field. Patricia
Hi Sherri, After the first attempt being unsuccessful at that point I would have gotten administration involved. Patricia
Hi Carly, These two things will certainly minimize anxiety. Preparation is a must! Patricia
Hi Harold, Coming prepared is always the best choice, but there are some people who simply want the easy way out. Patricia
Hi Kerry, I concur! Our students deserve nothing more than the best! We must provide an environment that will allow teaching and learning to take place. Patricia
Hi Benetta, I like this approach. What a great way for students to see how the information relates. Patricia
