About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Activity

Hi Lindsay, It does. Smaller class sizes allow you to have your students to spread out during test time, and you do not have as many to watch as well. Patricia
Hi Yolanda, I like it! You provide a thorough review, and then you allow your students to have further discussion the next day for clarity. Patricia
Hi Nicole, It does work well. I like how you make it known to them that their tests are different. Patricia
Hi Nicole, You are right! We are constantly being watched. Our students are waiting on us to mess up. Don't give your students a reason to lose trust and credibility in you. Patricia
Hi Richard, Teaching should be looked at as strictly business. Everything needs to take place within the building. Patricia
Hi Kerry, Absolutey! Enthusiasm starts at the top in the classroom and that is with the instructor. Believe it or not enthusiasm is really CONTAGIOUS! Patricia
Hi Earl, I always have 2 days worth of work for one day just in case. Preparation is key. Patricia
Hi Annette, Great idea! It is amazing what students can learn from each other. Patricia
Hi Mark, Yes, it shows how to lead by example. Patricia
Hi Jimly, A lot of our students learn about professionalism while they're in school, and they carry these traits/ways into the workplace. Patricia
