About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Activity

Hi Mervat, Work ethic and attitude can make you or break you in the workplace. We must provide our students with great constructive feedback while they are in school so that they can make exemplary employees. Patricia
Hi Donna, With this method, do you allow students to turn in assignments whenever they want, thus being early, on time, or late? I have my students turn in their assignments on the due date, not before or not after. Patricia
Hi Joseph, What a great way to test the students knowledge as well. Patricia
Hi Lydia, Thoroughly going over the course syllabus is definitely a plus. Students want and need very clear expectations. Patricia
Hi Ian, Once students understand how they will benefit from the course, they are sold. Patricia
Hi Rita, Competition can cause one to work harder, thus resulting into better results. Patricia
Hi Amanda, In the classroom and the relationships need to be kept strictly about business. Patricia
Hi Kimberly, Great response! We are human too, and as long as we live, we will make mistakes. As you have mentioned, use mistakes as a life lesson learned and move forward. Patricia
Hi Cecelia, This is certainly a way to minimize cheating. Wow, evidently a monkey wrench was thrown into the plans of the student who generally makes 100 and dropped to an 84... Patricia
Hi Veronique, Good habits generate good work ethic, which is vitally important in the workplace. Patricia
