About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Activity

Hi Florene, Enthusiasm is contagious. Let your students catch it from you. Patricia
Hi Meighen, Nicely stated! This is exactly how I handle angry students. If I am unable to provide a solution, I get the experts involved. Patricia
Hi Robert, I hear you loud and clear. You have to vent to your colleagues in a private setting behind closed doors. Patricia
Hi Steven, Students need to be put in a relaxed state as much as possible, by demonstrating an example it really does ease anxiety. Patricia
Hi Rosemarie, You are on point! We must remember, we are some of our students only role model. They do not have a good example to follow else where. Patricia
Hi Monica, Absolutely! The instructor must lead by example. We are some of our students only role model. Patricia
Hi Christine, I have a similar attendance policy, and I have seen that this policy doesn't phase some students, but others are motivated by it. Patricia
Hi Cindy, Great way to get students to see the benefit of taking a class. I also like to add my worth as to why they are taking the class as well along with input from students. Patricia
Hi Anthony, Distance is everything in education. Great response! A line has to be established, and students must know from the instructor not to cross the line. Patricia
Hi Florene, My favorite guest speakers are graduates. They have great stories to share, and it really does show the students that they can do it too. Patricia
