About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Activity

Hi Christine, All students should be treated the same. It is not right to have teacher's pet so to speak. Be fair to all. Patricia
Hi Cynthia, Students enjoy hearing about our professional experiences. I especially like how you allow your students to share how they would handle different situations. Students need to know how to problem solve and handle various situations in the professional world. Patricia
Hi Donald, Being detail at the very beginning cuts back on a lot of confusion through out the grading period. Patricia
Hi Doug, You're right! I have been teaching for 22 years, and I still am learning. Patricia
Hi Rosamond, This is me all the way, loud and energetic. Students love my enthusiasm 8 o'clock in the morning and 8 o'clock at night. No one enjoys boredom. Patricia
Hi Melody, Students absolutely love it whenever practical stories are shared. Practical stories keep the content exciting. Patricia
Hi Tony, The syllabus puts everything in perspective. It is a great tool for students to refer to. Patricia
Hi Amie, We have to try our very best to reel in unfocused students. Give unfocused students a leadership role or at least some responsibility. Patricia
Hi Kescia, Resources are great motivation for students. It is good for students to hear from other professionals about their career field other than the instructor. Patricia
Hi Susan, Listening is key! Being defensive definitely will escalate the problem. Maintain a calm demeanor and try to move forward on resolving the issue. Patricia
