About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Activity

Hi Marlo, I love it! I am all about inspirational readings. Students love the energy that is projected from the quotes. Patricia
Hi Robert, Students must take a sense of responsibility for their education so that they can become successful. As educators we wil encourage, help and guide them as much as possible, but the ultimate responsibility is solely left up to them. Patricia
Hi Ronald, Distance is vitally important. Students need to know that they have boundaries that they are unable to cross, simply because they MUST stay in the student's place. Patricia
Hi Dorothy, I like your idea of leading by example and your great positive attitude. I know these things are contagious to your students. Patricia
Hi Beverly, Students love it whenever they have a guide to follow. It really does ease anxiety. Patricia
Hi Jennifer, Students will certainly take you for a joke and the class for a joke if nothing is ever followed up on. Patricia
Hi Ed, You are absolutely correct! Everything falls under the umbrella of classroom management. Students expect us to be effective classroom managers. Patricia
Hi Cari, You really know how to reel shy students in because you were one. I make it a point to try to establish a great teacher/student relationship with shy students so that they feel comfortable around me, and perhaps they become more open in class. Patricia
Hi Judith, I am sure you have learned to never let your students see your sweat. You always need to appear to be very intelligent and confident around them. Patricia
Hi Candy, Calendars are priceless. They serve as a great way to lead to success. Patricia
