About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Activity

Hi Kathy, Great practices to put into use. You are definitely on point. Students frown upon favoritism, and the classroom is certainly not the place to share your personal problems. Patricia
Hi Lynn, Awesome response! Looking back on it, you really appreciate those who thoroughly prepared you for the real world. The push over instructors have been forgotten about. Patricia
Hi Freda, Try them! They really do work. They make a world of difference. Patricia
Hi Kerry, Our students need all the preparation they can get. We must thoroughly prepare them for the real world. Patricia
Hi Cynthia, When you are comfortable around someone you tend to open up so much more. Patricia
Hi Douglas, Students like for the course to be made real. Students get it and are more interested when they can understand the relevance of the course. Patricia
Hi Janet, Great practices used to sell the course. Students automatically perk up when you tell them something will look very impressive on their resume. Patricia
Hi Douglas, What a great personal touch! Students have a different (positive) impression of you when you can call them by their name. Patricia
Hi Barney, I like it! You keep your students active while learning. Students enjoy active learning. This is a good way to keep tired students alert. Patricia
Hi George, Students need to and want to know how various concepts are going to apply to the job. Patricia
