About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Hi Karianne, I understand! This is a great way to grab the attention of the unfocused student. Patricia
Hi Carole, You need to make sure to teach the chapter fully so that students get a good understanding and if time permits do the activities. Make sure to emphasize the most important information in the chapter and make mention of those things that are not as important. After teaching the course a couple of times, you will find your balance because you will be more comfortable with the material, and you will have a better judge for timing. Patricia
Hi Jaime, Students really and truly enjoy hearing applicable stories to the lesson. This is great way to break the monotony. Patricia
Hi Latika, Great way to express how one can benefit from a nonmajor course. It would be nice if students were very open to receiving as much knowledge as possible. Patricia
Hi John, You are right ethics really tie into finance, but there are some students that will test the waters. Great idea of including this type of information on the test. Patricia
Hi Glen, Students really see the relevance whenever real examples are utilize. They want to know how the information learned applies to the real world. Patricia
