About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Hi Lori, Timely feedback says a lot about you as an instructor. You should be concerned/caring enough to want to know how your students are progressing. Patricia
Hi Kathy, Absolutely! Enthusiasm starts at the top and will trickle down to most students. The instructor should be an energized bunny. Patricia
Hi Debbie, I concur, but as you mentioned boundaries must be established that students are not allowed to cross. Patricia
Hi Donna, Experience really is the best teacher. I am sure you have tons of valuable stories to share with your students. Your students are fortunate to have you as their instructor. Patricia
Hi Aaron, You are very prepared! Preparation is key. Preparation helps reduce or stop anxiety. Patricia
Hi Peggy, Students feel extra special whenever you know them by name. Every student matters, and we should make a special effort to memorize each student's name. Patricia
Hi Stacey, I like this! Great way to test their knowledge base and help them earn bonus points. Patricia
Hi Karianne, When students know that they are being watched, they are more unlikely to cheat. Patricia
Hi Scott, This is exactly what we want to do is to WOW our students. Students generate a great sense of excitement whenever they see and understand how the course applies to their career. Patricia
