About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Hi Kanisha, Absolutely! Students will run completely over you if they do not respect you. Patricia
Hi John, Great approach! Students seem to have an automatic excitement for computer courses because they know coming into the course, computers are the way of the world. Patricia
Hi Latika, Rapport building is important. Definitely try to get to know your students so that a bond is created. Patricia
Hi Deborah, We all make mistakes! Don't stress, accept them, learn from them and move on. Patricia
Hi Grace, When students understand how the course applies to their career, they generate a keen interest in the course. Patricia
Hi Richele, What if's will definitely freak you out because we can what if all day long. As long as you are prepared, confident, knowledgeable, fair, organized, and professional anxiety will be at a miminum, if at all. Patricia
Hi William, Preparation is definitely a must! I like to stay a week ahead of my students. Patricia
Hi Stephanie, Excitement really begins at the top. The instructor sets the energy level for the class. Patricia
