About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Hi Carol, Great points! It is evident that you display professionalism to your students. Patricia
Hi G., That's right! Tests must be monitored. When students are left unattended during testing, you give them the clearance to cheat. Patricia
Hi Vida, I really like how you present questions to your students to get them thinking how they play a vital role in the situation. It easy to point the finger; students need to work on this because in the workplace this is not going to fly. Patricia
Hi Louella, Wow, I like your enthusiasm. I can tell you give your students every ounce of energy you have. I am sure you do not have an attendance/retention problem in your classes. Patricia
Hi Julie, I like how you deal with this. It seems like you are very open to constructive feedback. This is effective for students to know because this is the way it should be handled in the workplace; you go to the person you are having the problem with first. Patricia
Hi Michelle, Students need to know that we care, and they also need to know that we are there to help them succeed. Patricia
Hi Leslie, I like it, how you get students to focus on the end result and this is how you get there. Patricia
Hi Enrique, Students love guest speakers; guest speakers really shed a lot of light on the teaching in the classroom. Patricia
Hi Gerald, Students deserve, want, and need an atmosphere that is conducive for learning to take place. Patricia
Hi Marion, Students need role models to look up to. Believe it or not, we are some of our students only role model. Patricia
