About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Hi Phil, I have witnessed the same thing. Guest speakers add validation to what we say in our lectures. Students really do believe the information coming from the guest speakers. Patricia
Hi Arvice, Guest speakers are priceless, and they add great flavor to the course. Students enjoy them immensely. Patricia
Hi Venusa, It is simple, the instructor should lead in a way so that he or she is always regarded as the authoritative figure. Patricia
Hi Rick, I agree! Distance is important in a student/instructor relationship. As instructors, we need to be regarded as such, not their friend. Patricia
