About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Activity

Hi Billie, Fun is what makes any course! Students love it when they can learn and have fun at the same time. Patricia
Hi Rachel, As instructors we certainly should be professional in all areas. Students look up to us, and we should be the professional that we want our students to become. Patricia
Hi Helen, Excitement about the course begins with the instructor. Excitement is contagious; normally if the instructor has it, most of the students will get it. Patricia
Hi Ralph, A parent/child to instructor/student is a great analogy in every aspect. We must guide, nuture, care, and lead by example as a parent as well as an instructor. Boundaries must be established. Patricia
Hi Rachel, I concur! It is simple, I let my students know and see that they are being watched during test time; this is the best tactic to minimize cheating. Patricia
Hi Harvey, What a great way to see this! Games are always fun, and we are all in it to win it! Our students success is our success! Patricia
Hi Judith, Preparation is key and knowledge is a must. Clarity is the grounds for better understanding. Patricia
Hi Debra, Great lesson to teach students! Employers are simply not going to put up with the foolishness. Patricia
Hi Rachel, Students love it when the lesson is highly interactive. Students are able to exert engergy whenever movement is involved. Patricia
Hi Susan, Long time! You must walk into your classes with a plan in hand! Over preparing will serve you well in this case. Patricia
