About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Hi Andrew, Wow, what a great story! It is awesome to have your colleague work for you. I let my students know all the time that you never know where your next opportunity will come from. Patricia
Hi Salvador, Nicely stated! We must be the professional that we want our students to become. Patricia
Hi Peter, I have known instructors to make their students check their work with turn-it-in and submit the documentation from turn-it-in to help minimize cheating. Patricia
Hi Mohammad, Guest speakers are no doubt super motivators. Patricia
Hi Annabelle, Listening is key! Sometimes angry students simply need to get things off of their chest. Patricia
Hi Adrienne, What do you do to maintain a professional image. Patricia
Hi Dr. Mmuo, You do a fine job showing your students how a professional should conduct themselves. Continue to be a great role model. Patricia
Hi Kenton, Great response! Mistakes are bound to happen. With better preparation, mistakes can be reduced. Patricia
Hi Jackie, Angry students most of the time just need someone to listen to them FULLY. Listening is key, and they really appreciate to have us as sounding boards. Patricia
