About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Hi Pam, Awesome! You can really speak from experience, which makes the class even that more interesting. Patricia Scales
Hi Jeff, I like the idea having the students set the rules, therefore they understand because they created them. I am sure they abide by their rules for the most part. Patricia Scales
Hi Jennifer, I like how you get your students to take ownership in the course. Students are more likely to buy in when they feel invested in the course. Patricia Scales
Hi Chip, I love your positivity! Income is a super motivator to get buy in from students. Patricia Scales
Hi Thomas, I have found that students love verbal quizzing, and they really learn from each other using this method. Patricia Scales
Hi Sherri, Preparation is a must, and it will certainly ease the nerves. Patricia Scales
Hi John, I concur! The roles must be differentiated. The student/instructor relationship should be strictly business. Patricia Scales
Hi Dawn, I love your perspective about professionalism. You are right on point! I can tell that you are a super role model for your students. Patricia Scales
Hi Robert, I concur! We have students that have had some hard knocks in life, and most of the time their anger is not with the instructor. Patricia Scales
