Hello Barbara, I really like the idea of contacting an alumni. It is nothing like having testimonials. Testimonials are great! Patricia
Hi John, Absolutely, we all need general courses to be successful at running a business. Patricia
Hi Arthur, Wow, you have an interesting course that most people are naturally interested in! It is great you do focus on how the course requirements prepare them for the work world. Patricia
Hello Diane, How have these students been a challenge? I know that they can be challenging. Patricia
Hi Diane, I make a similar presentation. I created a PowerPoint presentation for Keyboarding. The presentation focuses on, the importance of Keyboarding, why they take Keyboarding, jobs gained from mastering the skill, what they will learn, etc. Students absolutely live the visual. Patricia
Hi Bonnie, Clincal courses are exciting period. I observed a clinical course last week, and the students in training were very excited, and they even got me excited. Patricia
Hi Bonnie, What a good way to have student involvement with the syllabus throughout the course. Any time a student knows they are going to be tested, they tend to hold on to the information. Patricia
Hi George, At my institution we are very well structured too. Syllabi, tests, quizzes, lecture notes, lesson plans, etc. have been developed. These various documents being in place make it a lot easier for new instructors especially. Complaints are minimized whenever things are prepared. Patricia
Hi Peter, I am sure you have discovered that you have to read they syllabus to them, and go over it thoroughly with them. I use a PowerPoint presentation in every class I teach on the very first day that expresses to the students why they are taking the course, what they will gain from the course, and how it will help them in the workplace. Students want to know how they are going to benefit from their course based on their chosen major. Patricia
Hi Julie, Idle time for a bright student is not good. You are doing the right thing to keep them very busy. This type student abuses idle time. Patricia
