About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Activity

Hi William, You need to make your class what it needs to be to bring excitement. Do you have academic freedom at your school? Perhaps, you can revise the PowerPoint presentation. Someone needs to take initiative either you or the academic dean. Patricia
Hi Edward, Students do not have to know if this is your first time teaching. You can present yourself in a way as if you were teaching for years. It is all in your presentation. Take control! Patricia
Hello Bonnie, I like the idea of killing students with kindess. In a sense, you are being the bigger person. Patricia
Hi Bonnie, My feelings are the same as yours. You have to know where to draw the line. Patricia
Hi Joseph, What current trends have you covered lately? Patricia
Hi Kimberly, Many students are excited to know you have experience in the area you're teaching. Personal experience stories are very motivating. Patricia
Hi Francis, It serves us well when our doubters finally see the importance of material. Patricia
Hi Robert, Wow, eletronic devices. Some students will find a way to be dishonest. I am happy to know you do have a set policy in place. I would push to make the policy even stricter. Patricia
Hi Peter, Students will quickly catch on to lack of preparation. This lack of preparation can damage an instructor's reputation. Patricia
Hi Thomas, I feel as though being a parent and a manager allow you to be a very effective teacher. These three areas have a lot in common. Patricia
