About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Hello Carlos, Guest speakers are fabulous, but GRADUATE guest speakers are even better The students love hearing from one of their very own. It gives the students great motivation. Patricia
Hi Carlos, These are all great ways to minimize cheating. It sounds like you do a super job administering your exams. Patricia
Hello Terri, Students need to and want to know how the course applies to their major. We need to have that information ready to present on Day 1. Patricia
Hello Terri, What type of things have you learned that excite students? Patricia
Hello Terri, I understand. I teach those 6:00 p.m until 9:50 p.m. courses, and they are a bear. We have to do creative things to keep our students attention. I am a loud talker, and that typical works. I also do group activities. Patricia
Hello Terri, Walking around during a test is a must. It minimizes cheating. Patricia
Hi Terri, Yes they do!! Instructors should be held to high standards pertaining to professional image by personnel. Patricia
Hi Dixie, You're right! The magic doesn't always work, but it is worth trying. Patricia
Hello Dixie, Bottom line, is that if the problem is beyond your scope, you can suggest ways for the students to get help. I understand the points you've made. Patricic
