About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Hi Michael, Absolutely. It is our job to manage the class well. It appears you are an effective class manager. Patricia
Hi Aaron, I like the idea of making the watching equal. You made a great point! Patricia
Hi Rufus, I have a simple policy for my instructors for following up on assignments. All assignments are to be graded and ready to return the next class period. Students want to see how they are doing. Patricia
Hello Catherine, Visuals are helpful in this way too. I always tell my students to be very thorough when in doubt. Patricia
Hi Mark, You kind of have to MAKE shy students speak up as you have stated. Patricia
Hi Michael, You're right. The student's name should never be revealed, whether the grade is good or bad. Patricia
Hi B. A., Generally that works! I've tried that tactic before. Patricia
Hi B. A., Students need to see it. We should not leave it up to imagination. Patricia
Hi Chunan, You are on point so far as dealing with the different types of challenging students. Patricia
