About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Hi Augustine, I am sure there are several students who have fallen behind because the instructor did not care enough to provide immediate feedback. It is a shame some students have to suffer because some instructors will not do their job. Patricia
Hi William, Excel is a great example to use. You can take all types of classifieds out of the paper to show the relevancy of this skill. Patricia
Hi Anne, Thank you for being the perfect role model to your students. Patricia
Hi Paul, I see your points. I've had some students to quit their employer that were not supportive of their schooling and found jobs that had schedules that were conducive to their education. This is a student that is determined not to let others define their destiny. Patricia
Hi Juli, By giving the students various scenarios and have them tell how one should take responsibility. Patricia
Hi Juli, It is a very uncaring and nonchalant lesson that should not occur. Follow up on assignments! Patricia
Hi James, What a great way to get all students involved. Very interesting! Patricia
Hello Stephen, If they understand how they can relate the concept in the workplace, the student has a different level of interest. Patricia
