About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Hi Carrie, Wow, you got me excited! Cookies are my favorite. I can see how this can get students excited about the course content. I love the incentive--not having to clean; I can understand how this can highly be sought after. Great ideas! Patricia
Hi Karen, What great examples. Who have you used as examples, and how did the students react? Patricia
Hi Kellie, This is an excellent way to get students to buy in to the course. Students want to know how various concepts relate to the real world. Patricia
Hi Teresa, Students appreciate getting ideas for projects. Showing examples really put students at an ease. Patricia
Hi Kassy, Students want to know that you are confident with what you are teaching. Patricia
Hi Karen, How enthusiasm are you to teach the class? Excitement begins with the teacher. Active learning is a good way to add excitement to your class. Patricia
Hi Jeanne, It is good to know that you willingly answer students questions. I've been told by some students that some instructors are very impatient, and they do not like answering questions. Patricia
Hello Tim, You leave no stone unturned. You are direct and straight to the point. Your students know up front exactly what is required of them. Patricia
Hi Brian, How thorough! Your students can not say they were not told. Patricia
Hi Gerald, Very fair! You are forewarning the student. How has the worked in the student's favor? Patricia
